Lines and wrinkles and creases, oh my!
No one likes the signs of aging - lines and wrinkles - not even your stitching. But there's one simple step that can help prevent them. Crafty Ewe employee and talented finisher, Pat recommends the following.

Remove your hoopWhen using a hoop (or a Q-snap), remove your stitching from it each day. Leaving your fabric in a hoop too long can lead to lines that may not come out, even with ironing. The photo to the left shows what you might need to deal with if you leave s project in a hoop too long. In addition to creases, stitching left on a hoop too long can become discolored. Dust and dirt can accumulate on the hoop surface. While removing your stitching every time might seem like a pain, think of it as an opportunity to admire your progress on your beautiful stitching. Not interested in moving your piece each time? Then switch to scroll rods. Your fabric is rolled up so it does not develop creases. It is still subject to dust, sun and curious pets (LOL) so we recommend you protect it when not in use. Old pillowcases are a great option. |
