In business since 1989, the Crafty Ewe is a needlework and custom frame shop. We specialize in counted cross stich with thousands of charts to choose from. We also carry several counted canvas charts and a wide variety of threads that can be used in either of the two fiber arts as well as in other types of embroidery.
Fabrics? Just come in and look over our wall of fabric. From 10 count to 40 count, hand dyed or regular, you should be able to find one just right for your heirloom sampler or holiday hang-up.
Floss isn't the only fiber available to cross stitchers any more and the Crafty Ewe carries all the most popular....Gentle Arts Sampler Threads; Weeks Dye Works; Crescent Colours; and many more cottons, silks, wools, and metalics from Kreinik, Rainbow Gallery, Thread Gatherers, Caron Collection, ThreadWorx, and more.
Needlework doodads are needlework doodads and we love them almost as much as we do our needlework.  It's for that reason that we carry a large collection of those as well.
Although many people think we only frame needlework, we frame all types of art and probably frame as much paper art as needlework.....we just think we do a better job with needlework than some other frame shops because we have a greater appreciation for it. Need something "unusual" framed? We've framed several things you wouldn't believe.

The Crafty Ewe "2012" Getaway Weekend
The Crafty Ewe's 2012 Getaway weekend will be held at the  Sheraton Suites Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. http://www.sheratonakron.com/

Our classroom and dining area will be overlooking the Falls.  It's truly a beautifull setting for what I hope to be a beautiful weekend.
The guest teacer/designer for this year's event will be Robin Laukhuf of Olde Willow Stitchery.  Robin is an online college business professor and designer working on her doctorate degree in business. She started her business by hand-dying threads for the cross stitch industry. She enjoys sharing her love of antique samplers with her students. Her designs and articles on samplers have been published in Sampler and Antique Needlework Magazine, Cross Stitch and Needlework Magazine, Gift of Stitching Magazine, and Piecework magazines. She has taught at national needlework shows and guilds across the United States.  You can view her blog at and read a little more about her reproduction sampler at http://oldewillowstitcheryblog.blogspot.com/

Jodi Ferrini (the host designer/teacher from the last 2 getaways and regular at the EWE) will design another beautiful  piece for you to stitch prior to the weekend.  Her class will teach you how to finish that piece as a lovely (but usable) needle/scissor case. Jodi is not only one of the designers, but a VERY BIG part of the planning for our weekends.  Without her, this event would not be a reality.
Check out last year's happy stitchers and consider joining us this year for more fun and surprises.  Come with friends or come alone and meet new ones.
You can contact Carol (me) at CraftyEwe@cox.net and have me add you
to the mailing list.  I'll be sending out emails with any updates on the getaway.
